I am a life member of Auxiliary 5990 Avra Valley- Marana, in District 5. I joined the Auxiliary in 2010 under my grandfather. I have a great group of military veterans within my family including, My Maternal Grandfather Donald Bish Sr, a Korean Air Force Veteran, My Paternal Grandfather George Slayton Sr, WW2 Navy Veteran, My Uncles Donald Bish Jr & Victor Pallanes, Peacetime Army Veterans, and My Father George Slayton Jr, Peacetime Navy Veteran.

It was not till 2020 that I became active and emersed in Auxiliary life. I have served Auxiliary 5990 as Trustee and President. On the District level I have served as Senior Vice President. For Department I have had the honor to serve as a Color Bearer, Youth Chairman and currently Membership Chairmen. 

I am a Tucson Native, born and raised. I have been married for over 20 years to Scott who is also an Auxiliary Member and together we have 4 children, Dakota, Savanna, and Twins Madison and Makenzie. Each of my children volunteer at different areas within the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. I truly believe the commitment of a volunteer is demonstrated and starts in our youth, am proud of the dedicated volunteers my children are becoming.

I look forward to this journey and excited on what I can bring to our team but most importantly I am excited about what I can learn from everyone in this great Department.
